Some people firmly believe that "the best sleep is when the other person has to get up and go to work"; there seriously must be something wrong with me because that concept makes me feel guilty! So, every morning when my dear husband wakes up at the crack of dawn to go to work, I'm up too- I get to play 10 minutes of a 50's housewife and make coffee which I then hand-off to him on his way out the door.
I mentioned yesterday that one of the big things that I had been working on this past month was getting the handmade shop up and running. I'm so happy to share that it is open and ready for business!
>>The Grey Birch<< Making is my all time favorite thing to do. I feel happy, satisfied, complete and accomplished with every piece I finish. From an idea, the process in creating that idea into a tangible, functional object is so gratifying. When others appreciate it and purchase them for their own, that is when things really come full circle. So far I've got the handmade shop stocked with embroidery, notebooks, prints and necklaces. Plenty more goodies are heading there soon, but in time of course! Anyways, I hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for some fun posts coming up. I have been so busy with getting items stocked into The Grey Birch Vintage as well as creating items for The Grey Birch that I haven't had time to "blog" at all!
Some exciting things this past month/coming month:
I've also resolved to try to actually write more. I'm not the strongest writer, nor the most interesting to be honest. I'm way more of a visual person, but with the suggestion of my amazingly supportive friends, I think I'm going to start chronicling the prep for the market. I've done markets in the past, but it has been quite some time. I'll share with you my tips and tricks that I've learned along the way! I'll even throw in some fun camping/hiking related things as well. Well, I believe it's time to start making for the day... |
